Woodman is the son of Concepcion (née Socarras) and Dean Woodman. His Father was born into a Quaker family and co-founded the investment bank Robertson Stephens; and his mother is of Hispanic descent and re-married Irwin Federman, General Partner of U.S. Venture Partners in 1992. Years of drought have taken such a toll on California’s fall run of Chinook salmon that, for the first time in 14 years, fishery managers are canceling next year’s fishing season off the state’s coast to help the population recover.

Students at Wellesley College voted Tuesday to allow transgender men and nonbinary people who were assigned male at birth to be eligible for admission, a move that could symbolically change the face of the Massachusetts women’s liberal arts college but was resisted by the college’s leaders.
The nonbinding vote followed debate that had pitched students against the college administration.
